No, I completely agree. I also think that there are two contributing factors to the demise of television shows on network today. One is definitely not really giving a television show the chance to thrive on their networks. They cancel it before people can even start watching.
People have jobs, they have obligations and sometimes they DVR, wait until latetr so that they can watch it at a later time. There's nothing wrong with that but they barely give these shows any time. The writers strike didn't help the situation by giving a normal 22 show run, only 9 episodes.
I also think that downloading has a lot to do with this. My demographic 18-49, particularly my age range does a lot of downloading rather than watch the show on television. We're not really helping with the ratings slump. Wish there were a way to remedy this.
