Snowflake cookies were such a good idea. Too bad it clogged LiveJournal. Still, thank you to everyone who sent me one! The additional ones I received were from [livejournal.com profile] aurora_84, [livejournal.com profile] camelhaircoat, [livejournal.com profile] suzvoy, and [livejournal.com profile] ohfreckle! So much ♥ to you all! Looks like LJ noticed the total fail and didn't send some additional ones that I sent out. Bummer. VGifts for you guys later.

Also? I think installing the new PowerDVD on my computer screwed up my capping system. Now I have to burn my episodes in a different way to be able to cap them. I was thinking about using VLC's autocap since that would be easier on my finger but the caps come out so dark. I don't like that. I'm just going to have to figure it out so there'll be a delay in the S2 caps. :( It's upsetting.

Now the original reason for this post! I used to have a question for the day much like LiveJournal's questions of the day that they ask on the front page. I came up with this before they had that little feature. That said, here's the question for the day:

WHAT MOVIES DO YOU HAVE TO WATCH DURING THE HOLIDAYS?

I have a list of movies that I watch but one of my weirder ones is Babes in Toyland with Annette Funicello. I guess that's a holiday movie because they're making toys for Christmas. So, that's the association. What movies are on your list?

I'm not big on holiday movies, but sometimes I break out Mixed Nuts. And if Elf is on, I tend to leave the tv on that channel.

OMG, I absolutely HAVE to see National Lampoons Christmas Vacation at least 12 times, and Scrooged with Bill Murray about 20 times. My mom plays those two on repeat non-stop throughout the season.

One of my all-time faves is Prancer, though. I loved that movie as a kid, and I still enjoy watching it. i think it's on tomorrow night, actually.

I have to watch A Christmas Story at least once during the season. Lol, for Memorial day I watch Jaws, and for July 4th I watch Independence Day.

The version of A Christmas Carol with Albert Finney. Some of the music is corny but I love it.

In our house it is traditional to watch Holiday Inn to start off the the Christmas Season then in December we watch the cartoons of The Grinch and Charlie Brown's Christmas and we try to squeeze in The Christmas Carol with Alistair Sims. Finally Christmas Eve isn't complete unless we get to watch (and sing along with) White Christmas. I personally love It's a Wonderful Life but the rest of the family doesn't, so I have to sneak that one in myself.

Home Alone!
And also two Austrian movies that are highlylarious. I love to watch all kinds of childhood faves shortly before Christmas. Particularly fantasy-like, colorful feel-good movies for snuggling up in front of the tv.

Other than the mentioned three I don't think I have any real standard ones. Love Actually, maybe. Oh, and I also associate watching Some Like It Hot with the Xmas season, dunno why. Edward Scissorhands, Elf,... There's also The Canterville Ghost (the version with Patrick Stewart and Neve Campbell) that I used to love watching during the season but... *sniffles* the old video cassette got broken some years ago and it's not really available here. :[

I'm sure there's a bunch of others I watch almost regularly. The week or so before Christmas is one of the few times where I actually do watch some of the TV program.

Home Alone, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, The Santa Clause, Merry Christmas Mr. Bean, Charlie Brown Christmas and, on Christmas Eve, A Christmas Carol (1951 version, see icon).

The Sound of Music! I know it's not a Xmas movie, but for some reason it airs every December and it's become synonymous with the holidays. :)

Scrooged! Almost forgot about that movie. I have yet to watch Christmas Vacation this year. I have it DVR'd though so I'm ready for it. Aw, Prancer! Yet another adorable classic. Good picks!

Ooh, good choices! All perfectly themed movies there. You're only going to watch A Christmas Story the once? Not the 24-hour marathon that TNT has every year, haha. :)

Fantastic choices! I'm a fan of It's A Wonderful Life myself. Anyone I watch it with usually falls asleep. Shame on them.

Cartoons, definitely! Aww! The beagle's gonna love the Charlie Brown Christmas special. I have some movies already on my DVR and I need to break out the Love Actually and A Muppets Christmas Carol for me.

Fantastic choices! Oh, I remember that version of The Canterville Ghost! It's not available there? I think that they sell it on amazon.com here. :( I need to play catch up on my holiday movies still.

Fantastic choices! I'm with you on those. I watch The Muppets version of A Christmas Carol because I grew up with it, ha. I can't find my Home Alone 2, hmm.

For some reason that definitely gets played during the holidays! I guess "My Favorite Things" is the association with Christmas. I heard it today being played as part of a holiday soundtrack. Good choice!

Aww, I remember that one! Good choice!

They do sell it on amazon.com, but only via private sellers. With shipping and all it would still be slightly under 20$, but then there's the regional code thing. *dramatic sigh* I suppose I could still view the dvd on my computer, but I want to watch my movies on a real and bigger tv screen.

lol, four years ago, when the longing got the better of me, I went and ordered it from amazon.uk, but that turned out be a complete fail. What I got was some Scottish cartoon.

I'm currently bidding for a Region 2 version on ebay. :x
It has no proper case, but at this point I don't even care! (Omg, what have I become?!) I'll make my own superspeshul case! Yes, you and your post rekindled my flame for the mission!

...wanna bet I don't even like the movie anymore? :D

Home Alone 2! I try my best to watch it every year during the holidays...just brings back childhood memories. I also really love watching Love Actually around this time of year. Such a great feel-good movie.

Oh, boo. Hahaha hopefully you'll like it when you get it! I have yet to feel that way about something that I've watched in childhood. Maybe it's the hardcore nostalgia in me that makes me like something forever.
