Anything Kurt and The Host of Nickelodeon Guts (Mike O Malley) absolutely breaks me. I started bawling like a baby the minute he started beating down on Finn using the word 'faggy'. I've never seen anything like that on television or in movies -- the parent absolutely standing up for the child using those words, being that fierce, and it's heartwarming. Warms my heart.

What I don't like about Glee is that it's completely inconsistent. It moves from storyline to storyline without giving the characters any time to digest what's happening to them. Last week they're going to shut down Glee Club, the week before that there's another major crisis, and this week Tina has an identity crisis. I think this is one of the first episodes that really wrapped up a storyline in a consistent way. In that way, it was a good episode.

I'm a pop music fiend so the Lady Gaga theme didn't hurt. Loved their version of Bad Romance and that Santana got a bitchin' solo. I noticed that they took the word 'bitch' out of the song.

I'm not a Kiss fan so I just tuned that part out. Beth was sweet though.

The Idina/Lea stuff is difficult for me to look at with any kind of outsider perspective because I'm in the adoptee position but I like the way that it was handled. A lot of adoptees don't have the Lifetime movie ending with their birthparents and I like that that's addressed in this show. Just because someone gives birth to you doesn't mean that they're your parent and Idina's character realized that instantly. Rachel realized it too. I really liked that acknowledgment between them. So, good job Glee.

I really, really liked last week's and thought that it was perfect (thanks NPH and Joss!) and it's good to see that they've followed it up with another equally strong episode.

I totally see the appeal of this show - it was on while I was cleaning the other night. I'm not a big musical fan, so it's not my thing, but I enjoyed many aspects of it. The mother woman? Had an amazing voice.

I'm kind of surprised that it took off like it did! When I was first interested in it, it only had Broadway geeks as a fanbase but it's really expanded. The woman who played the girl's mom? Oh! That's Idina Menzel. She played the original Elphaba in Wicked and even won a Tony in that role. In other words, yes she has a fantastic voice, hee. She's going to be performing with the San Francisco Symphony in July. Me and a friend of mine are roadtripping it up there for her birthday.

The scene with Kurt and his Dad had me totally choked up... even my hubby succumbed and watched that scene. It was so well done.

The first time Idina Menzel was on she didn't sing and I was so disappointed.

I'm much happier now and with last week's episode, even though I'm not thrilled with her story line.

I thought the scene between Kurt, his father and Finn was an Emmy worthy performance. It had me weepy, yet proud. Proud of Kurt's father's unconditional love for his son.

I've never seen anything like that on television or in movies

I'll just say that when that scene ended I said "that was AWESOME" xDD.. I think the actor playing the father makes pretty good job.. he was on Parenthood recently and was good there as well.

And I agree with you about the rest.. except for the Kiss part I really enjoyed it ;)

Agreed! I'm curious, what about her storyline do you not like?

I'm not thrilled with the development of this character so far. Some of the parents/adults we've seen are appealing, moving, exciting, funny... but right now she's done nothing for me and considering how well she played Maureen in RENT (Broadway & film) and Elphaba in Wicked, I'm attributing it to the writing. I didn't feel any real emotion to care enough whether she stayed in Rachel's life or not. I was more appalled that the character used one of her students in such a sleazy way to get in touch with her daughter, but not angry enough to really care.

Definitely the writing. The show's been completely inconsistent when it comes to characters and storylines. They're not really defining any of them and I wonder why! I mean, the show just got renewed for a third season and they can do great things with them but they're not. I'm with you on using one of her students. But, on the other hand, this is from the same people who thought that Will's wife taking the baby of one of his students was totally okay.

I agree! You just don't see characters written like that and it was played really, really well.

Yes! I've known Mike O'Malley since I was a kid. He used to host this television game show for kids on Nickelodeon so it's strange seeing him. But, he does such a great job with his character.
