Day 2 - Your favorite QaF season

I'm caught between the establishing Season 1, Season 2 episodes 1-15, and Season 3 as a whole. How do you go wrong with Season 1? Everything seemed so well-rounded. There was a perfect balance between all the storylines and I never felt like one particularly intentionally overshadowed the other. By that, I mean, Brian and Justin kind of broke through in a dominating way but I thought that there was a pretty even balance. They managed this throughout even until Season 3.

I really liked Season 2 up until the sudden change in episode 216 that made absolutely no sense.

If I could disregard 216 to 220, Season 3 made a lot of sense. I liked the drama and angst at the beginning up until the way that Brian and Justin reunited in 308. They were growing together and they were growing as characters.

It ended on such a positive note.

I highly recommend any [livejournal.com profile] ohfreckle's gorgeous icons to get your QaF fix from any season!

S3 hands down for me. But that could simply be for the most shallow reason of all-time: both Brian's hair and Justin's hair were at an all-time hotness high. They were both so incredibly hot that season. Guh. Also, I'm a huge sucker for the break-up and back-together storyline. Loved even the Ethan bits.

If I was forced at gunpoint to pick ONE then it would definitely be S3 for the exact reasons that you said. Their hair ... um, may I bring back the visual of Justin's hair getting pulled by Brian in 311? I mean, YOWZA. There was also a lot of leather wearing for Brian and everything fit Justin just right and they were gorgeous. I even did an ode to Justin's hair.

Also, I'm a huge sucker for the break-up and back-together storyline.

Me. Too. It was good times!

THE PRETTY WAS SO, SO OVERWHELMING, BB.

I'd definitely pick out moments in S4 and S5 that I thought we'd never see ever!

THAT'S THE ONE WHERE I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A COLD DAY IN HELL WHEN WE HEARD IT, HAHA.

It didn't even hit me how incredible it was until like ... two years ago, lol. I couldn't wait until it was on TV and watched it through a screener. Needed to appreciate it a little more before it really sunk in.

Man, this is making me wanna marathon.

OMG I HAVE NO TIME FOR THAT, FRIEND. :X

Also, it's funny how we were both such mega QaF fans but it was Luke and Reid who brought us together. <3

OMG! YES! so much pretty hair in season 3. It's too hard for me to pic only one season; I just can't do it! :)

I'm so shallow, I'll pick season 3 like everyone else, just because of the hair. And because I'm a slut for breakup/reunions and pining.

I will totally have to make QaF icons for my epic Christmas icon post, I'm in such a mood for it.

Like you said in a reply, "If I was forced at gunpoint to pick ONE" then it'd be like I always say, season 4, but it's true that season 3 is a close one because I love the angst, getting back together and the hair as well.. and then season 2 is the first one I saw and it's special.. after all, it has the hottest scene of the show for me.. (icon).. so I don't know if I could say that season 3 is better than 2.. they are pretty different.

Still, I can totally get your reply.. with this show I get any reply people give *g*

And because I'm a slut for breakup/reunions and pining.

This has also completely won me over. Many Brian pining faces and looks of longing aka love forever!

I will totally have to make QaF icons for my epic Christmas icon post, I'm in such a mood for it.

I WILL NEVER OBJECT TO THIS. IN FACT, I ENCOURAGE IT.

I'm always curious why people pick Season 4. Curious! Yeah, they're all so different and they all have their moments. So hard to pick just one!

For me, they both have amazing performances that season.. not that the rest of seasons they aren't great but this season, they were given some really good material to shine with and they did.. and I also love the storyline and what they go through.

Like you say, it's very hard to pick just one. Nobody mentions season 5 but I freaking love season 5 despite Gale's hair and I love the ending.

I'd have exactly the same problem.:)) And I'd probably end up picking S3, it's my favorite finale too. My choice might also have to do with the fact that it's the first season I could watch - and I love episode 3.04.

I really liked Season 2 up until the sudden change in episode 216 that made absolutely no sense.
Thank you. ♥ All this time, I thought it was just me.:x

Oh, shallowness, I love it! After all, I did buy a flamingo pink laptop after walking by the television and seeing it being demonstrated on QVC. Not sure if I even looked up the details...because, after all, it was flamingo pink.

It turned out to be a pretty nice (albeit incredibly heavy and large) Dell, but it didn't matter all that much, because it was flamingo pink.

But I could understand the hair. Besides, I'm also a huge sucker for break ups and get back together stuff. I think that was actually part of what drew me to Brian and Justin. I've always been drawn to loves that "don't come easy." I like it when the course of true love doesn't run smoothly.
By the way, Rhiannonhero--I have always been very fond of "Through the Eyes of a Shot One." Something about it is very sweet--one of my keepers.

Very interesting about loving the Season 5 ending, because I did too, until I started reading the comments of others about it. Although I watched the show religiously from the first minute it aired; I was never involved with the boards, or fic or anything else. The only person I knew who watched the show was my husband! I started getting involved in all of this because I missed the next to last episode, so didn't watch the last one until I caught up, then wanted to discuss it with someone--and by then, for my husband, it was over. Besides, most of the time, men aren't very satisfying to thrash out nuances of storylines with.

I don't have time right now to go into what I loved about the ending, but I remember telling my husband that it was one of the most soul satisfying endings I'd ever seen. I am a great one for postponing things, and I have a strange aversion to watching sex between officially united couples; so although I was glued to the tv with all the NC 17 BJ scenes in the beginning, the opening scene in Season 5, Episode 12, in the shower and on the table and over the table had me prim and tight lipped and saying to myself "well, that's a little personal."
Then, the minute they decided not to go with the wedding, I was back to watching the sex like a cheerleader, ready to shake my little rainbow colored pompoms at a moment's notice. yeah, strange, I know.

What I got from the ending was a feeling of putting things on hold, while Justin went and did what most kids his age would have done at 18; the equivalent of going away to college. I didn't see them as breaking up at all.

That being said, and thinking it over; I think it was a poorly thought out way of ending. The girls moving to Canada was asinine, you don't pick up and move like that with no jobs, no prospects, and one of you with a law degree only good in this country--not unless you're skipping over the Allps with the von Trapp family, with the Nazis in hot pursuit.

And you also don't pick up and move to NYC on the strength of a positive art magazine review. You'd be dead broke in a month. I've often gone in to detail about everything that was wrong with that solution, and how it could have been done in real life, without losing any drama. But complaints aside, the essence of the ending, was to show that even the hardest cases can eventually be changed by love. So I like the ending, as long as I add my own mental epilogue.

Well, for not saying much, I managed to type very fast and say a lot.
