missed my LJ anniversary!

amelialourdesIn the midst of vacation excitement, I missed my LJ anniversary! Let us pretend that it's July 11th and I'm posting this then. I've been on LiveJournal for 8 YEARS NOW! That's a good chunk of time. I started this journal when I was a graduating high school senior going to be a freshman in college. Wow. I do not want to look back at those entries but I am glad that they're here. Some friends have been here for ages and some haven't but I'm grateful you're all here now! :D

Mostly, everyone still used typewriters, though my college had a computer lab, complete with c: prompts. The printers all spit out dot matrix. It was awesome - all very cutting edge!!!

Hee, we did celebrate it via pizza and Chinese and ice cream. We had our very own party. I'm so glad I got to celebrate it with you too!

Date: 2011-07-22 12:34 am (UTC)Yep, you typed in c:/wordprocessing or something like that and the blank screen came up for the WP program with the command bar on top - with basic cut and paste via highlighting and prompt moves, etc. You know, no windows until what, 1990s? All very primitive in comparison, but it was so awesome after typewriters. Loved it.
