You guys, I am hardcore nostalgia-ing QaF. Like, hard. There's a bit Luke and Reid, too, because I'm randomly writing Lure fic in which they get trapped in a cabin. But I had a dream about Gale Harold last night and I just really, really need to see them. QaF is coming to Netflix on February 1st so I'm thinking that needs to happen like yesterday. Between the Olympics and QaF marathon, that's where you'll find me in February!

So, come on. Let's all nostalgia together, please. I will not be alone in this. Favorite memories? My recent favorite memory is visiting filming locations! Wish I could've been there years ago but at least I got to go. :)

Ooh! I got another one! Fun fact - I was supposed to go to the Season Four premiere but I wasn't gonna go if I couldn't get in. So I stayed home. Turns out, my friend was waiting for me and among the group of people just invited inside to watch. Sigh.

AW! This remind me of my own HARD nostalgia attac last year. What helped me back then was rereading my favourite fic from back then, you know, the golden classics. So much great stuff.

Right?! I'm sure that that's next on my journey. A guilty pleasure for me is reading Rizabeau's Sugar Plum Fairies during Christmas. And then I didn't this year and I feel so incomplete! Sigh. I've also been meaning to update all my fic rec links, convert docs to PDF for reading purposes. So many things I wanna do. So little time. Why couldn't this stuff hit me when I was unemployed? Lol. Plenty of time then!

Just feeling it hit hard. Thinking about my favorite people and some of them have just disappeared and I miss them. At least YOU are still here! Yay!

And I am, I am! I don't know how it's turning out. It's a little too... I don't know. Needs to be tweaked but I'll probably post the first chapter here for beta-ing if anyone wants to take a stab at it and hopefully it isn't horrible, lol. It's Luke and Reid get trapped in a cabin trope! Who's done that one? I feel like I remember something like that.

I would love for QAF to come to Netflix Canada! That would make me really happy. I did get to see Woody's from the outside last June when I went to Toronto for a day, so that's one shooting location down even though I didn't go inside.

I hope it does for you, too! I didn't go inside the bar either. We had to get going but it was definitely just awesome to be there. Too bad Brian's loft has been knocked down but that would've been fun, too.

I'm always looking back to find links to old fics I liked. I didn't even know there was such a thing as fanfic until the series had ended. I did the fan thing backwards; although I watched every episode, from the day the first one aired, that was it--I had no idea of fan communities. The only other person I knew who watched QAF was my husband, and we didn't necessarily see eye to eye on our favorite parts. He made occasional comments about too much sex--actually tried to fast forward one scene, because there was no dialogue (and you point????--put it back!".)

It was a shame that I went past the end of season 5, and only discovered fandoms when I realized Episode 513 over Episode 512, which I hadn't yet seen. So in my quest to see the missing episode first, I ended up recording all five seasons, looking at comments, which led me to fics, which led me to people....and all these years later, I'm still meeting them.

Most of the fics I read were from BJ fic.net, or other sites of collected fanfic. I've seldom read them on LJ as they were evolving. But I would love to see updated links, I know there were plenty I've missed, lost, or didn't get to finish.

I saw two versions of a play in New York and London two gay students in a Catholic boarding school. In each of these shows, one of the actors was gay, and one was straight. Even if I hadn't already known this, it was obvious, when I complimented the chemistry they generated. A delicate comment about this, referring to QAF; two of the actors had no idea what I was talking about, and the other two were pleased and honored at the suggestion that they were entering the exalted ranks of hot m/m couples. The actor in the London show told me he was a "massive" QAF fan, so the last night of the show, I brought him an autographed picture of Randy, as well as a program from the New York version of the play in which he was appearing. Since I'd seen the show 13 times, I had a few to spare.

I hope that Netflix shows the episodes as they aired on Showtime. LOGO censored so much out that at times, if you hand't seen the original episode, you wouldn't really have been able to follow the dialogue in certain scenes.
