1. Happiest of birthdays to my bestie, C! I know you pop in every once in a while so I just wanted to wish you a happy birthday here too to cover all my social media bases. I think I've been writing you a message in here ever since I had this journal so I'm keeping up with tradition, right? ♥

Another happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] ayesakara whose love of all things Gale is endless and that is never a bad thing. I'm so glad that I'm getting to know you a little better, friend! I owe you an overdue e-mail, definitely. Will send that off to you soon. ♥

2. It's a brand new month and I've decided I need a little more focus and need to get some things done this month. So, I'm giving myself the challenge of doing NaBloPoMo. It's easier to do these since I have a Blackberry now and I don't have an excuse to miss a day. The theme of this month is Looking Up as in "things are looking up" and I think that that's an important message to convey. So, I'll be writing something once a day. I'm going to try to make some public entries but there are some that I have to lock up and those are going into the 'friends only' zone.

3. I'm also gonna do the 30 day meme even though May is 31 days. No biggie.

30 Day Meme. )

Technically yesterday was the release of This Is It but I ordered it from amazon.com so it isn't here yet. Eee! Blu-ray goodness. It's such a mix of emotions to watch This Is It. It's upsetting to watch a concert that's never going to be completed or performed by the man who originated those ideas and songs but it's definitely a tribute to what could have been. I only saw the movie once in theaters because I was crying like a loon. So, I'll save the tears for the home viewing experience. In honor of Michael Jackson release day, here's a recent video of the Filipino inmates dancing to the medley section in This Is It:

This video is awesome for the following reasons:

1. Michael Fucking Jackson.
2. It's a medley of some really great songs and it makes me want to listen to History RIGHT. NOW. Also that last bit of Dangerous always gets to me. I've always wanted to see that live. Oh and there's that little line in History that goes, "Every day create your history. Every path you take you're leaving your legacy." Kills me every time. It's such a great song.
3. These inmates are murderers, rapists, robbers, etc. and for a couple of minutes, they just become dancers.
4. Michael Jackson's choreographer Travis Payne taught them this routine.
5. They're Filipino! Give it up for my people. We sing, we dance, we love karaoke but most of all? We love Michael Jackson.

In case you don't know who they are, here's the original video where they danced to Thriller.

I'll be listening to my Bad album if you need me. I cannot wait until Captain EO is back in Disneyland!

Thank you.

First of all, just wanted to say thank you for everyone who responded to my last (a lil crazy) post. Everyone has those nights and it was just a shit weekend so I just really appreciate everyone's words. For those who can relate to my situation, I'm sorry that we have to go through that. For those who said kind words (that's everyone) you have my love. I'm really glad that I have a place to go when I'm not feeling very well and where people will listen. It means a lot.

So, I've somewhat returned to being my old self today. There are still residual feelings of anger and sadness but I know that that's going to pass. I just went to work today and my co-worker really cheered me up throughout the day. Unfortunately, something that I had been working on got completely erased and that sucked. I was almost done with it and for some reason when someone's logged into one of our documents while we're working on it, if we try to save what we're working on, a document gets erased. So, in this case, what I was working on got erased and his copy was saved instead. That sucked.

[livejournal.com profile] marishna beat me to it but here's a video of the brilliant and wonderful Keith Olbermann from Countdown today:

I know that I'm preaching to the choir when I post it here but just try to spread the word where you can. As much as I am really, really, REALLY disliking our governor right now, it seems like he's trying to get on everyone's good side and opposing the Yes on 8 decision. The fight rages on.

I hope that everyone had a really wonderful day and I'll be back tomorrow with a Heroes review.

Oh, did anyone watch Witness to Jonestown yesterday?
