All right all. A little help please.

I just upgraded my browser to Firefox 3 and it's completely aesthetically unpleasant (wonder if that's the right way to say that). Um, I hate the way that it looks. I'm on a Mac and I didn't realize that your choices are EXTREMELY limited when it comes to changing your theme. I did not know that.

I admit, it's a lot faster than the old browser and I like the way that the text looks inside the window but the tabs are too damn dark and the top chrome back buttons, forward buttons, reload ... no. The fact that I can't change the way that it looks is aggravating.

So, two things:

1) How do I get Firefox 2 back?

or

2) Is there ANY theme out there for a Mac computer that isn't going to be chrome and that resembles the Firefox 2 default?

1) Hmm, I've never done it, but I believe you have to uninstall FF3 and install FF2?

Thought about that. I'm just kind of worried about my bookmarks. Will they disappear if I get rid of one completely and install the old one? Hmm.

re: bookmarks: please to be installing Foxmarks immediately. It makes your bookmarks available online and you can transfer/upload/download them between computers. You'll never have to worry about losing them again.

Oh, I totally have that. I really should synch it though in case I'm paranoid. Okay, I'll sleep on it and figure out what I'm going to do. I just miss my lighter color tabs. :(

I have Firefox and Safari. The Apple tech people (have had waaay too much need for them) say Safari is preferred with the Mac. You might want to check it out. Bookmarks are easier to manage.
Doesn't answer your question. Just FYI/

I'd love to know about Foxmark, though as I have many bookmarks already on Firefox. If you have time, please tell how to access it. Thanks.

Yeah, they may prefer Safari with Mac but I sure don't. It's crashed more often than Firefox and loads at an incredibly slow pace. I like the speed of the new Firefox but not the aesthetic view of it.

All you have to do is google Foxmark, install and run it. It's a program. It isn't immediately accessible on Firefox.

Foxmark is this lovely plugin for FireFox that'll save up all your bookmarks. You'll even be able to access them online from another computer! It is of the awesome, except it slows my poor pathetic PC whenever it synchs up my bookmarks.

Thanks. I wonder if it will slow my MAC. It's already slow enough.

I don't think that it will. My Foxmark is at the bottom of my browser and I barely notice when it synchs up.

I work on a Mac and use Safari. I find it extremely easy to navigate.

However, if you still want to use Firefox, I wouldn't play around too much without chatting with one of the "Mac Geniuses". They might even be able to help you get a better look for the new, improved FF3.

I also find Safari aesthetically unpleasant and it CONSTANTLY crashes on me. I think that it freezes up way more than Firefox ever has.

Does chatting with a Mac Genius require me to go down to the genius bar or can I just ask somewhere online? Yeah, I'm just desperate for the new look. Anything to get rid of the ugly Chrome that is messing with my browser. :|

Thank you for the suggestion though! Gotta look around some.

I think you should be able to do an online question and/or chat.

Good luck!

I've been fortunate in that my Safari works really well.
