You know, I don't even really care that much about the movies that have been nominated this year but there's just something about Oscar night. I don't know if it's just about tradition for me or the history of the Oscars that does it for me but I get excited about it every year regardless or whether or not I really care. That said, it's all about the people on the red carpet before the show!

- Anna Kendrick. She'll always be the little Broadway star to me. Almost a triple threat, right? First the Tony nomination and now the Oscar nomination. Grammy nom, next?
- Sam Worthington. Added to my list of "people playing Americans". It's a fun little list I've just started in my head. Why does he look so pissed off? Lighten the fuck up. It's Oscar night.
- Maggie and Peter! They've arrived. I know Peter Sarsgaard has hair so ... shaving it? I dunno.

These star people are arriving early 'cause they're scared of the rain. ABC, Channel 7 is baffled.

OH MY GOD. WHY DOES SUZY AMIS LOOK LIKE THAT?! She's all bone. Ew.

I'm putting this post on top so I can edit throughout the night.

This is also the first year that I didn't watch the Independent Spirit Awards. Sigh. My soul is crushed. :|

- I can't believe that Jeremy Renner is nominated for an Oscar. It's like when Ryan Gosling was nominated. The dude from The IT Factor is nominated for an Oscar?! Crazy < --- in reference to Jeremy Renner.
- Sarah Jessica Parker. What ... is wrong with her dress? Looks like it should be on some toddler doll or something.



- One for Inglorious!
- Up! Yay, Up!
- This John Hughes tribute is breaking me.

My cable company and ABC are in a massive bitchfest, and something like 3.1 million of us here on the east coast are in Oscar blackout. Can you believe it?

Yeah, right now Cablevision is streaming something that translates into: "ABC did this! They suck! Tell them they suck! We're right!!!" on the channel. It's really obnoxious.

I could watch it on the internet, but I'm not that into it.

...Apparently sometime in the past hour, they came to an agreement, and the show's on now.

Doesn't help all the poor saps who had to cancel their parties, etc. And you know, all kinds of bad will for the cable company and ABC! good job, guys!

DISNEY/ABC JUST ANNOUNCED IT'S RETURNING WABC-TV TO CABLEVISION SUBSCRIBERS. OF COURSE, IT'S ALREADY 17 MINUTES INTO THE OSCARCAST.

Here's the statement from WABC-TV: "We’ve made significant progress, and have reached an agreement in principle that recognizes the fair value of ABC7, with deal points that we expect to finalize with Cablevision. Given this movement, we’re pleased to announce that ABC7 will return to Cablevision households while we work to complete our negotiations."

There was the dumbest news segment on Jeremy Renner last night, talking about him being from Modesto and his negative comments about the city. They interviewed locals all up in arms that he would hate it, lololol. I'm like come the f on, it's MODESTO, it sucks and he's right.

The Oscars are my least fav major awards show so I hope I am entertained. I really only care about Christoph Waltz winning (seems like a given) and anything but Avatar getting best film. Hated that movie.

LOL! Exactly. It's like that baseball or football player that had all those comments about Woodland and how it sucked. Well, it's Woodland. It sucks. Modesto sucks just as hard, haha. The locals probably hate it too but it gets them on the news.

What's your favorite awards show? Mine's the Independent Spirit Awards. I don't have that channel anymore. :( If Avatar wins? I give up on movies. I'll stick to television.

I totally LOVED the It Factor. One of the girls is on some CBS crime drama now.
