I liked it! I liked today's. There were several twitch inducing moments (LILY) but all it made me think was, "Poor Reid ... using Brian Kinney devices to heal your hurt."
... I mean, seriously. They could've taken that dialogue straight from Episode 507. Remember? "It's not that I can't. I won't." That's Reid Oliver! He doesn't want to be around people (even though I think he's a liar and just hurting from not being with Luke).
Let's review:
- Reid and Luke in the breakroom. Luke says that Reid doesn't want him anymore even though all I can hear is myself saying, "HE DOES WANT YOU. IT'S YOU THAT HASN'T MADE UP YOUR MIND YET, LUKE." I don't even know if that sentence structure makes any sense but it's in my head.
- They're talking about what they are and aren't to each other, even though Reid says that it was rhetorical, and then they totally deviate from the conversation because Luke can't stand to see Reid eating food that is not food. I would also hope that that "nutrition" joke is a joke. TV dinner it was.
- So, Luke invites Reid over for some real food at the Lilypad and I loved the way that Reid said, "You're inviting me over to your Mom's for dinner?" It's so boyfriendy. Reid declines and Luke shrugs it off. Luke does seem like he's on a crusade to make Reid more "human" as he calls it. I keep having Buffy flashbacks when he says that. It's also the way he says it. Bugs me. Anyway!
- Noah goes over to Lily's and thanks Lily for everything that she's done for him. Well, he seems grateful now but he wasn't so down with it when he was blind. Then again, he hated the world and everyone in it and wasn't grateful for a damn thing when he was blind. Just sayin'. Lily needs to STFU during this scene even though I know she's talking about herself and Holden and not really Luke and Noah.
- Noah goes up to Luke's room (WHEN DID LUKE'S ROOM CHANGE?) and gets all nostalgic when he sees a photograph of himself ... AS JAKE AND VAN AT THE GLAAD AWARDS. Seriously, what's with the show? They can't take one photo of Luke and Noah on the set? The mind. It boggles.
- Luke comes in, they chat, I wonder what the hell Noah's old tie is doing on Luke's chair, and they get nostalgic about their first awkward kiss. Whatever, I rewound that part 10,000 times when I originally saw it. I loved it then and it made me nostalgic for Nuke but that was easily remedied in the next part that came up.
- Holden and Lily were talking and Lily wants to get back together with Holden ASAP but Holden's like -- it's okay to be with someone new even though you thought you were going to be together forever. Holden's advice made me want to hug him and felt like a note from TPTB telling Nuke fans that it's okay to move on.
- Luke and Noah continue to talk about how they didn't think that this is how they would end up and Luke said that he didn't think that this would happen to them (leaving out the thought that -- yes, it is happening -- they are apart now). Reid walks in and Noah gives the most AWESOME frustrated throw his old tie down that I've ever seen! Awesome. Now he hates Dr. Reid with hatred of a million suns. Rock on.
- Noah says he wasn't invited and leaves. Reid hangs out in Luke's room while Noah leaves. Reid is at his most awesome with the complete snark. He hasn't been snarky to Luke in so long but it's totally because he's hurt and hurting and all walls of defense are up so no one can penetrate them. Sigh. Now the roles are reversed from Monday's episode and Luke tells Reid to get out. But there's just this *LOOK* on Reid's face before he goes like he wants to say something but he doesn't. He leaves.
... I also liked that sarcastic line that Reid said about making love in Luke's room and first kisses, mixed CDs. But, I understand that this breakup is new for Luke and he's shaken up from it and Reid's hurting. Oh, the angst! The angst!
... the angst. It kills. :( But, good episode! I just can't wait for more. When are they on next?
So didn't expect to say that much about it. It just happened. Back to watching Buffy.

They keep using Van/Jake shots -- Noah's cellphone pic
was from one of their events, too. With all those
promo shots, they can't use one of those???

How long could it possibly take to get those two together, take a photo, slap it on the computer, and print it out? Like, 2 minutes. Oh, show.
