Since we're all fandom happy around here, I've got a fandomy question! For those fic junkies out there, what fics have made you cry? I'm a total lush so I cry a lot but there are a couple of stories that come to mind that I can't even read anymore because I know I'll end up sobbing. Okay, so maybe stories that make you sob or cry. Any fanfic that does that to you? Share them!

Hmm. I'm sure many have, such I'm a huge sap. Right now I'm drawing a complete blank. I need some caffeine.

I have a whole coffee here I've barely touched. I'll share. :D

I'm curious to know what's gotten to you, bb! One in QaF that's sticking out is Randall's "Seven Stages." It's got their entire lives together but from beginning to end and the end kills me. Oh, and Reaper Boy. Totally. Can't read them anymore.

"The Long Way" by Bigboobedcanuck and Ragingpixie is one of the few fics that truly brought me to "tissue required" tears. Absolutely brilliant!

YES, OMG. WE'RE JUST TALKING ABOUT THAT.

They set the mood and the tone so perfectly for it but it feels like I'm mourning and grieving with the characters. It's just so, so good!

I've teared up here and there at plenty of fic, but I don't think I've ever actually cried reading any.

I cry all the time writing fic, though. I think it's because I'm trying to get into the characters' heads and thus end up even more emotionally invested/connected to them.

I cry all the time writing fic, though.

Maybe this transfers to your readers too because a lot of the time I feel viscerally connected to your writing that it affects me. I mean, causes me to physically or verbally react (hard to read at work but I do it anyway). I think that that emotion that you have, writing through them, transfers really well.

Lol! It absolutely counts! There's a lot involved for an author and I think that it totally counts when you're affected by what you're writing.

Ugh, second that! Tears and sobs and all.

Another QAF fic that always makes me teary-eyed is Lachrymose:

http://qaf-fic.com/atp/viewstory.php?sid=1634

In other fandoms, this SPN fic totally made me cry - I think because I relate so much to Dean in this, having an addict sibling and being so unsure all the time. Ugh, it kills me but beautifully.

http://archiveofourown.org/works/62115?view_adult=true

And the ending of this Clex fic just KILLS ME:

That's another reason to cry -- fic you can relate to. :((

And gonna read that too. Thanks for the recs of sadness!

I cried writing Vampire Reid due to massive exhaustion, and writing my post-train fic because I wrote it pre-train and thought it was going to be better than it actually was.

As for crying at fic, I don't think I have at any in the LuRe fandom. I did tear up at one Doctor Who/Torchwood fic from years ago, because when Jack was FINALLY about to die, the Doctor picked him up and took him to see Nine and Rose before he first met them. This was written before Ten met Rose (pre-Nine) before his regeneration. I cried at one DAAS fic, one Merlin fic, and one The OC fic, which was weird because I'm not even in the fandom. But I can't for the life of me remember what they were.

Lol! And yet you've written them. Maybe your intent is to make other people cry? Haha.

Sobbing Over FanFic

I can't remember ever crying over fanfic. That's more a result of avoiding any fic that gives me the least hint it will make me sad - that's not what I want in a fic at all, at all.

I definitely never read death!fics. FanSee

P.S. I did tear up at the end of Teacher - forget who wrote it - but only because the ending was so perfect.

Here's a new one that's not yet been suggested:

REAPER BOY

Jesus H Christopher that one was rough. So good, but omg from the first chapter it was like... :(( :(( :((

There was another QAF one and the title is escaping me... I think it was by sweetestdrain (I think that's her name? The one who wrote the unbelievably awesome Hustler!Justin?) This one killed Justin, and Brian ends up with Ethan and vomits :| :| :| It was gloriously sad cause EVERYONE was fucked over in that fic. If you remember this one or find it in your search, let me know what it's called! I kinda want to read that again.

We've talked about Reaper Boy weeping above!

That story WRECKS ME from beginning to end. You think everything might be okay, there may be some kind of 'brought back to life' scenario but NOPE. I guess I torture myself since it brings my two favorite shows together and you think you're gonna make it without a tear but ... it just doesn't happen. :|

OMG. I REMEMBER THIS.

I think mojokitten wrote the other death!fic I'm thinking about or someone did maybe you remember it. It was Justin leaving voice messages to Brian throughout the day and Brian wasn't picking up his phone. All the messages were in italics and every message was sort of a time stamp on Justin's last day until the last one where he's like "waiting for you to pick me up" or something and he died right after that.

... why are they always killing Justin, lol.

I'll try to think of the one where Brian fucks Ethan. I swear I thought it was mojokitten but must be somewhere else.

There was no warning that it's a death fic. And it's not obvious until the last page. (it's only 14 pages long)

I'm too chicken to read Reaper Boy. ;)

I'm a huge sap, so tearing up a little happens all the time. I don't necessarily count those. But two that I went through entire boxes of tissues while reading and that I will never read again are Randall's "Seven Stages" and Rhi's? "Apollo's End" (don't remember who wrote that).

The final chapter of Miss Miko's epic "Fantasy Season." The saving grace of this one and "Seven Stages" is that they've been together forever and Brian's 80 or so, if I remember right.

_kiden had one that was just a little one shot, maybe just a thousand words or so, where Brian's cancer returned. Michael came over to say goodbye, Brian died that night or early the next morning, and Justin lies there with him wishing for just ten more minutes. holy shit, I'm teary just typing the description. christ.

I hate death!fic, and I don't really seek it out, but sometimes you just need a good weep.

Oh, and one that didn't make me cry, but that bothered me so much, made me feel actually sick, was also one of Randall's - the one Brian/Adrian-Adrian/Brian. omfg. I can't hardly even think about that one. I'd probably read a death fic over a fic where they split up and don't get back together. I just can't do those at all.

Aww! But Reaper Boy is such a fandom classic. It needs to be done. It's such a great fic ... maybe skip the end and read the rest? lol.

I can never read Seven Stages. That's the one that absolutely wrecks me! Every part of it is great and then it hits the last part and there I go cry for several hours. :|

I think I made an attempt to read through the Brian/Adrian saga once but it was kind of painful to get through. I think I just need to read more Brian and Justin than want to see those two with anyone else.

Great list though!
