Did anyone watch American Horror Story this season? I just finished it.

I really, really loved it. Even with the alien thing, I liked it. I don't really care if there was no explanation for them. Ryan Murphy doesn't really explain things. But there were some really poignant moments in the last episode and it really didn't go the way I expected it to go. It started dark and I was expecting it to end dark. It did, in a way. After all, Lana finally got to murder the son she never wanted. But there was still this strong sense of redemption with Kit and Sister Jude. I cannot believe I got the warm and fuzzies for how caring and kind Kit had been to Sister Jude. But that scene with the children was really, really beautiful.

This is how goddamn Ryan Murphy gets you! He lulls you into a false sense of security of how good his work COULD be and then you remember that there are big parts of it that are shitty. It's just the really heartwarming, heart wrenching moments overshadow the extremely bad ones.

Anyway, the show's in my head so I wanted to know if anyone else saw it and what your thoughts are.

I saw it! I had thoughts!

Hubs and I also wondered why aliens were not explained, and also what happened to Kit's second wife. Did we miss something? Did she split when he got cancer? I dunno. And also I think I missed what happened to the kids. Did the aliens take them back?

Ugh, Lana. I wanted her to be more likeable, and she just wasn't. So greedy for fame. I tried to keep in mind that she'd been through something horrible, but she turned me off. I just knew she'd shoot Dylan McBloodyFace.

Oh, Adam Levine. So hot, even with your arm chopped off.

Heard rumors for what next season may be about. Do not yet know how I feel about it.

I like your thoughts! Someone said something really interesting and introspective of the alien idea especially in relation to how religion played a role this season. I do not have the insight to reiterate it but I liked the idea that the aliens were a bit of a mystery. Apparently, they just came along to heal you and steal you at a future date. *shrug*

Yes, no explanation for the second wife! She just up and disappeared or Kit didn't want anyone to care for him including his second wife? Lana said that Thomas was a lawyer and Julia was a neurosurgeon or something and fulfilled their "special" place in life. I assumed they'd be alien squared or something but that wasn't meant to be.

No, I know. I felt the same way about Lana. She exploited her situation and the other patients for her own fame. Dylan McBloodyFace never saw it coming! Right in the head. It was surprising that Lana suddenly became the main character in all of this. Completely agree about Adam Levine. So glad they showed us more of the sex before Bloody the Sequel decided to spoil our fun.

Okay, apparently I only really adored Kit and Sister Jude in the end.

Ooh, what are the rumors of next season?

Well, supposedly RMurph said that there were hints in the last couple of episodes about the plot for next season. So some people are speculating..... witches? I dunno. I'm not good on picking up subtle hints in eps, but I guess people saw something that reminded them of witches.

Oh! Right. People have been saying Salem. I don't know if he'd do Massachusetts twice so maybe modern witches or something.

I watched it! I liked it! Not as much as the first season, but I liked it. I adored Kit, and the scenes with him and the kids and Sister Jude at the end were really lovely. I think there's just something so appealing about Evan Peters. Even in the first season when he was playing a mass murderer, he made you feel so much sympathy for his character. Sarah Paulson was fantastic as Lana all season long, too. And of course Jessica Lange.

I think my favorite character was Sister Mary Satan, though. So hilarious and delicously evil.

Also, I kind of forgot how good ZQ is at playing evil. He really creeped me out. :-)

Yeah, I liked the first season. I'm so Team Kit this season and Sister Jude got her redemption at the end. I never even knew I was cheering for her until she totally got the shaft (and not in a good way) from Father... Joseph Fiennes. I completely agree with you about Evan Peters. You're cheering for him. The acting has been out of control this season. They just take the material and run with it.

Haha, right? Oh my god. My Catholicism was coming out in full force in that scene with the priest. Ahem.

Yes!! I missed him evil, too. There's a reason everyone took note when he was playing Sylar. And then he was really great this season and totally twisted. I'm sure he's coming back next season but will probably switch it up yet again.
